Windows-based personal computers, who wish to begin a
career in information technology by becoming personal
computer service technicians, or who wish to prepare
to take the
CompTIA A+

Before
attending this course, students must have:

with Windows-based personal computers, including the
ability to:
Basic knowledge of computing concepts including:
- The difference between hardware and software
- The functions of software components such as the
operating system, applications, and file system
- The function of a computer network
Description:
The A+ Certification is designed for entry-level
computer service technicians and those individuals who
wish to begin a career in information technology. This A+
course focuses on both hardware and software functions of
personal computing. Individuals will build on their
end-user background as they acquire specific skills
required to install, configure, upgrade, troubleshoot, and
repair PC hardware components and systems. They will also
learn how to upgrade, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows
9x, Windows 2000, and Windows XP operating systems.
